ICF Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) 10-Hour Pathway

This 10-hour program is designed for experienced mentor coaches preparing to apply for the ICF Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) through the Credit for Prior Learning pathway. It provides focused mentor coaching education for practitioners who want to build on their experience and formalize their preparation for the specialization.

Experience provides a foundation for mentor coaching. Continued learning creates space to examine how you observe coaching, share feedback, and support a coach’s development. This program offers an opportunity to revisit your practice in relation to the ICF Mentor Coaching Competencies and consider how they inform the work you already do.

Led by ICF Master Certified Coaches (MCCs) with international experience, the program brings focused learning and discussion together through Learning Labs with a cohort of experienced mentor coaches.

How this program supports your MCS application

The program is designed to meet the 10-hour mentor coaching education requirement for ICF’s Credit for Prior Learning pathway. This pathway recognizes established mentor coaching experience alongside education aligned with the ICF Mentor Coaching Specialization requirements.

Completing the program is one part of the application process. Applicants must also hold an eligible ICF credential, demonstrate the required mentor coaching experience, and complete the applicable coaching skills evaluation training. ICF reviews and awards the specialization.
